A meeting of the Standing Committee on Climate Change was held on 16th May, 2019 in Committee Room No. 7 (4th Floor) Parliament House, Islamabad, under the Chairpersonship of Ms. Munaza Hassan, MNA.
The Committee discussed the implementation status of previous recommendation and recommended that representatives from all provinces be invited to next meeting in order to review in detail the progress made by all the federating units in this regard.
The committee further suggested that the campaigns to aware farmers and agriculturists with latest farming techniques to cope up with the affects of climate change may be run with full zeal and zest at federal and provincial levels to increase crop productivity and avoid losses in future.
The Committee was apprised by the ministry that the efforts are underway to completely eradicate the usage of plastic bags in Pakistan and in this regard capital city will be made a role model.
