Standing Committee meeting on Petrol Euro II to Euro V shifting

Islamabad, July 08th 2020; 14th meeting of the Standing Committee on Climate Change was held today under the Chairpersonship of Ms. Munaza Hassan, MNA.
 
On the request of Hon. Mover the Committee deferred the agenda item No. 03. Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources shortly brief about the Euro-II and Euro-V fuel specification. However, the Committee directed that thorough brief may be conducted in next meeting. Hon. Advisor to Prime Minister on Climate Change briefed the Committee about the Electric Vehicles and he told that one hundred thousand vehicles will be converted on Electric, which will be changed our country’s climate. The Government has been decided to convert two wheelers three wheelers and buses in first phase. Then, in next phase the Government would be though about the conversion of motor vehicles and others.   
 
From 1st August, 2020 the diesel available in Pakistan will be converted on      Euro-IV. The Committee took serious notice of the Petrol Pump adjoined Motorway and near Motorway interchanges those are supplying below quality fuel which badly affected consumers vehicles, further, they are charging 16% extra from the consumers those are paying their fuel price through credit/debit card. The Committee directed OGRA to inquire such type of complaints and report to the Committee in next meeting. The Committee directed OGRA to ensure that their complaint/help line number must be displayed at every petrol pump in the country for the facilitation of the complainants/consumers.

The Hon. MNAs/Members Mr. Khial Zaman, Ms. Andleeb Abbas, Ms. Aliya Hamza Malik, Engr. Sabir Hussain Kaim Khani, Ms. Tahira Aurangzab, Ms. Shaista Pervaiz, Ms. Musarrat Asif Khawaja, Ms. Zahra Wadood Fatemi, Syed Mustafa Mahmud, Mr. Zulfiqar Bachani, Ms. Shahida Rehmani, Advisor to Prime Minister on Climate Change besides the senior officers from the Ministry with their staff were attended the meeting.
