Islamabad: The Standing Committee on Climate Change in collaboration with the Westminster Foundation for Democracy has organized a consultation meeting on “Gender and Climate Change Parliamentary Initiatives” for Media Reporters of the National Assembly. The session was chaired by Hon. Ms. Munaza Hassan (MNA), Chairperson Standing Committee on Climate Change. She shared the various initiatives that the committee has taken related to climate change. Ms. Hassan shared how the committee has involved academia, civil society, and thematic experts who are assisting them in developing evidence-based brief.
The main idea of this consultation was to invite print and electronic media professionals for engaging with the committee and highlighting issues of public importance through tools available on the committee’s website such as public petition and public hearing.
